Our Story Begins in 2014

Blinglane was founded in 2014 by Saurabh Gandhi in a small studio in Karol Bagh, New Delhi — born from a single, stubborn observation. Indian women were stuck between two unfair extremes: heritage gold jewellery they could only afford for weddings, and cheap costume jewellery that turned their skin green by the third wear. There was no middle. No premium, daily-wear, skin-safe brand that respected their budget and their self-image at the same time.

Saurabh, then an 18-year jewellery-industry veteran with manufacturing and export experience across the US and Hong Kong, set out to build that missing brand. The original Blinglane operated under Bling Fashions Pvt Ltd, an Indian company that quietly built a direct-to-consumer jewellery brand at a time when Indian e-commerce was still finding its feet. It took three years — until 2017 — to achieve true product-market fit.

The Journey, in Milestones

2014 — Founded in Karol Bagh, New Delhi

Saurabh Gandhi launches Blinglane under Bling Fashions Pvt Ltd, with a mission to bring premium, daily-wear, skin-safe fashion jewellery to India's emerging middle class. Co-founder Shikha Thakur, a B.Sc Jewellery Design graduate, joins to lead product design.

2014–2017 — Three Years to Product-Market Fit

Hundreds of design iterations. Material testing. Customer feedback loops. The team locks in the formula: premium quality, redesigned unique products, reasonable prices, hand-finished branding, and one promise — happiness in every box.

2017–2020 — Scaling Across India

Blinglane builds a digital-first brand across India, supported by an active social community and a UGC engine (#BlingASelfie, #BlingFluencer) that turns customers into brand storytellers. Indian operations expand under Vikas Sharma, who joins as Co-Founder and Director of Indian Operations.

2020–2021 — Building Resilience Through the Pandemic

While much of the industry contracted, Blinglane's digital-first model held firm. The brand's customer community, social following, and order volume continued to grow through one of the toughest periods in recent retail history.

2022 — Canada Bound via the Startup Visa Program

Saurabh and Shikha relocate to Canada under the Government of Canada's Startup Visa Program, completing a six-month incubation at the Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC). The vision: take a brand that won India, and build it into a global house.

2023–2024 — Blinglane Inc. Launches in Canada

Blinglane Inc., a Canadian corporation, is established in Toronto. The Canadian operation takes over the global brand under a refreshed proposition: premium fashion jewellery, hypoallergenic by design, accessible to the masses, and delivered directly to customer doorsteps across India and select international markets.

2025 — Live Across Continents

Blinglane Inc. now serves customers across India, the United States, Canada, & worldwide markets. Blinglane India is operating under the Reserve Bank of India's Licensed Payment Aggregator named Razorpay - Cross Border (PA-CB) framework, with INR-native pricing and all-inclusive Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) checkout for Indian customers.

Saurabh Gandhi — Founder & CEO

Saurabh is the founder of Blinglane, with 25 years of experience in the gems and jewellery industry — spanning manufacturing, exports, trading, and twelve years of digital brand-building. He started his career across major US and Hong Kong jewellery shows and built deep manufacturing relationships across India and Asia.

In 2014 he founded Blinglane in Karol Bagh, New Delhi. In 2022 he relocated to Toronto under Canada's Startup Visa Program, completing the six-month incubation at the Toronto Business Development Centre and incorporating Blinglane Inc.

He leads brand, product, technology, and customer experience. He personally reads customer feedback every week. He is also Blinglane's designated Grievance Officer under India's DPDP Act 2023.

Shikha Thakur — Co-Founder & Director

Shikha is Blinglane's design and product lead, with 14 years of experience in the gemstone, jewellery, and e-commerce industries. She holds a B.Sc. in Jewellery Design & Manufacturing, and previously designed for ACPL Exports, one of India's established jewellery export houses.

Shikha joined Blinglane in its earliest years and has been instrumental in defining the brand's design language — modern, wearable, premium, and skin-safe. She relocated to Toronto in 2022 alongside Saurabh under the SUV program, completing the same TBDC incubation.

Vikas leads Blinglane's India-side operations and brings deep operational and supply-chain expertise to the team. He oversees the brand's connections to Indian manufacturing partners, artisan networks, and logistics that have been part of Blinglane's DNA from day one.

While Blinglane Inc. (Canada) now handles all global customer-facing operations and orders, Vikas continues to anchor Blinglane's enduring India relationships and operational continuity.
